As a leading bank with a complex IT infrastructure, our client faced several challenges in ensuring data protection, compliance, and long-term retention. With critical banking operations relying on IBM I-Series AS400 systems and sensitive customer data to safeguard, the bank needed a robust backup solution capable of seamlessly integrating with AS400 and providing reliable, scalable, and cost-effective data protection across multiple data centers. Additionally, the bank sought to replace its outdated tape library with a modern solution for long-term data archiving to meet regulatory requirements and improve operational efficiency.
Our Solution
Leveraging the Hitachi Data Protection Suite powered by Commvault, our team proposed a comprehensive backup solution tailored to address the bank’s unique requirements. The solution comprised backup software from Commvault, Hitachi storage for backup data repository, and Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) object storage to replace the existing tape library for long-term data archiving. With support for IBM I-Series AS400 systems, the backup solution seamlessly integrated with the bank’s core banking infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient data protection. Additionally, by deploying HCP at the bank’s third data center, we provided a geographically dispersed and highly resilient platform for storing and archiving backup data, enhancing data durability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Achievements
Through the implementation of our backup solution, the bank achieved significant improvements in data protection, compliance, and operational efficiency.
